Research

The WellChild Pain Research Centre carries out a wide range of research focussed upon understanding and treating children's pain.
The research projects fall broadly into two groups

1.  Basic neurobiological research on the development of pain pathways in the nervous system. 

     This is mainly carried out in laboratories in University College London (Fitzgerald Research & Publications )

 

2. Clinical research on the treatment and care of children in pain

     This is mainly carried out at UCL Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital (Franck Research and Publications ; Howard Research & Publications; Walker ) .
